Ketika mempertanyakan wajah anak yang baru lahir itu sering muncul pertengkaran kegembiraan, mirip si A lah, mirip si B lah, bundanya, ayahnya, atau mirip kakek dan nenenknya, termasuk juga warna kulit. Begitu juga petanyaan bentuk terhadap suatu ibu kota.<\/p>\n<p>Keindahan ibukota suatu daerah juga sering diperbandingkan, kabupaten \u2018A\u2019 baru dimekarkan, tapi wajah ibukotanya begitik cantik dan cepat maju. Sedang kabupaten \u2018B\u2019 sudah lama, tapi wajah ibu kotanya belum tampak.<\/p>\n<p>Yang jadi tolok ukur wajah suatu ibu kota, apa bangunan gedungnya yang megah, ataukah banyaknya persimpangan jalan, belum ada yang berpartispasi menjelaskan dalam bentuk definisi dari sisimananya dilihat waja suatu ibukota itu.<\/p>\n<p>Lubuk Basung, sebagai ibukota Kabupaten Agam, pembangunannya berkembang dengan pesat, jalan-jalan dipusat kota mulus, bersih, pohon yang tinggi dipangkas, agar tidak tumbang dan tidak menimbulkan musibah.<\/p>\n<p>Tiap hari petugas kebersihan membebaskan jalan dari sampah dan limbah lainnya yang berserakan. Bersih dan indah, tapi orang yang baru memasuki Kota Lubuk Basung juga bertanya, mana wajah Kota Lubuk Basung itu. Pertanyaannya, Mana Wajah Kota Lubuk Basung itu?.<\/p>\n<p>Ditinjau dari sisi pisik pembangunan, Lubuk Basung sebagai ibukota Kabupaten Agam maju pesat. Selain gedung kantor yang megah, di Kota Lubuk Basung, juga sudah berdiri hotel persentatif yakni Hotel Sakura Syari\u2019ah dengan bangunan bertingkat lima.<\/p>\n<p>Untuk ukuran kota kecil, seperti Lubuk Basung ini, berdirinya hotel berbintang Sakura Syari\u2019ah sudah mengibarkan ngaum yang begitu tinggi bagi Kota Lubuk Basung. Tidak hanya hotel Sakura, tapi juga ada penginapan lain yang sudah tumbuh dan berkembang, tapi kok masih muncul pertanyaan mana yang wajah Kota Lubuk Basung itu.<\/p>\n<p>Ada suatu anekdot atau kelakar, suatu hari ada pejabat penting dari Kota Pariaman hendak ke Bukittinggi melalui Kota Lubuk Basung. Ketika keberangkatannya menuju Kota Bukittinggi dari Pariaman, ia begitu ngantuk dan tertidur.<\/p>\n<p>Tapi begitu mobil masuk lobang, ia terbangun dan bertanya, \u2018eh, sudah sampai di Lubuk Basung?\u2019, tanya pejabat itu sambil mengusap mata. Tapi entah kepada siapa pejabat itu bertanya, tidak ada penjelasan.<\/p>\n<p>Yang jelas salah seorang dari penumpang mobil bersama pejabat itu, menjawab pendek, \u2018sudah pak!\u2019, kita sudah sampai di Lubuk Basung.
