Banjir disebabkan, selain intensitas huja begitu lebat, penyebabnya, air yang mengalir dalam saluran irigasi melintasi perkantoran&nbsp; Jalan Sudirman di depan Kantor Polres diempang, sementara debet air yang datang dari hulu berkekuatan besar, sehingga air dari saluran melimpah ke jalan raya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Banjir menimpa kawasan ini, tidak sekali atau dua kali, tapi setiap hujan lebat turun, sepanjang Jalan Sudirman yang melintasi perumahan, perkantoran, terutapa Kantor PLN Unit Lubuk Basung, Kantor KPHL Agam Raya, Markas Polres Agam, Masjid Agung Nurul Falah, Kantor Bupati, dan terus menuju Sport Centre Bukit Bunian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Walau sudah berkali jalan raya Kota Lubuk Basung dilanda banjir, belum diterima informasi, langkah yang akan dilaksanakan Pemda Kabupaten Agam. Kasat Pol PP Helton, yang diminta tanggapannya Minggu malam (9\/1\/2022) sekitar pukul 20.24 melalui WhatsApp, menyatakan akan segera koordinasiak terhadap upayanya dengan BPBD Kabupaten Agam untuk penertiban empangan pada berbagai titik, terutama didepan Mapolres Agam di Padang Baru itu, Lubuk Basung.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meski belum ada jawaban, yang jelas salah satu penyebab banjir disepanjang Jalan Sudirman Lubuk Basung itu adalah berasal dari luapan saluran irigasi yang diempang, lama kelamaan saluran akan dangkal, karena dasar saluran semakin dangkal disebabkan tumpukan material yang terhambat empangan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tidak hanya jalan utama komplek Kantor Bupati Agam di Lubuk Basung sering dilanda banjir, tapi juga jalan Provinsi Sumatera Barat, di Simpang Tugu Harimau di Simpang Tigo ditimpa banjir.
